Picking red berries, Finca El Malain in San Justo (Villaviciosa, Asturias)
"Son, I have to tell you something ..." (dramatic pause) "... blueberries are not manufactured in supermarkets." Does it sound exaggerated? Maybe less than the reality that many children have not seen a cow in their life like the one that produces the milk they drink. Neither milk is manufactured in the supermarket store nor is there a blueberry manufacturing chain in the back room. If you are on a family vacation in Asturias, go to El Malaín farm and have them see the fruits in their plants, pick them up and eat them at home.
The Malaín estate is a fruit shop where the roof is the sky, the walls are the field and the plastic trays with fruits are, well, plastic trays with fruits. But only after you choose the ones you want, being able to try some without abusing, and keep them in them.
The children I saw do it they were delighted with the activity of picking blueberries and blackberries and they took it, like many other things at that stage of life, like a game.

Although, if we stop to think about it, who, how old are you, doesn't like to walk among bushy bushes and pick up the most appetizing berries with your hands? And without a charge of conscience for doing it on a neighbor's farm, we know that in the end we will pay them, and cheaper and more natural than in a supermarket.
