The Piedra River as it passes through the Monasterio de Piedra
We begin our visit by visiting the natural space that surrounds the monastery. At the entrance they give you a map of the area with different marked itineraries. We follow the red path and end up visiting all the places marked on the map.
The natural interior is beautiful and it is difficult to understand that the area is so lush, green and full of water being a few kilometers away from desert areas such as Monegros.
The natural complex proposes an interesting itinerary where the Río Piedra channel is crossed in its multiple waterfalls and lakes that it forms as it passes. Among them, the Horse tail with a fall of about 50 meters that we can follow through stairs excavated under the stone. I was also surprised to see a good group of vultures scanning the horizon from the imposing Devil's Stone.
